Julie Johnson has been a widely published, award-winning professional illustrator since 1981. Her work has appeared in Graphis, The New York Times, Andy Warhol’s Interview, Fortune Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal, plus many other publications (see client list).
Her awards include the Communication Arts Illustration Annual and the New York Society of Illustrators "Best of Fashion Illustration."
Her work has been exhibited in San Francisco and New York City.
Julie is currently the official artist for Filene's Basement, which is famous for their Annual Bridal Event and discounted designer fashions. With over 40 stores east of the Mississippi River, Julie's work appears on mailers, in magazines, newspapers, billboards, the internet, and in-store.
You can see her work for Filene's Basement every April and September, when her work graces the entire 14 Street Union Square station in New York City.
She is inspired by Matisse, Toulouse-Lautrec, Gaugin, Antonio Lopez, Setsu Nagasawa, and other artists who have an exquisite use of line, color and shape.
